About
A homegrown Miami architect, Amanda Bonvecchio graduated top of her class from the University of Miami school of Architecture with a Masters in Real Estate Development + Urbanism . Amanda also has a Bachelorβs degree in Architecture with double minor in Business and Ecosystem Science + Policy from her Alma Mater.
For over eight years, Amanda has served as a Managing Director of Design and New Development at The Vagabond Group. Helmed by developer Avra Jain, together they carefully renovated and preserved Miami's oldest hotel: The Miami River Inn into a cultural co-living destination with a thriving heartbeat. In MiMo, Amanda is restoring the 1957 Gold Dust Motel.
As a Project Manager and in-house Architect, key elements of Amanda's leadership include dealing with all facets of the real estate development business - from financiers to subcontractors. Spawning a brand-new practical skill set that draws upon roots with deeply academic beginnings, Amanda has successfully completed several projects throughout Miami.
Amanda's diverse architectural skill is continually informed by her mixed heritage, passion for design of all kinds, and a long time love of the post war era cinema and music. Her appreciation for architecture and historic preservation began when she started studying at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, and took classes in the spectacular El Jardin (1918) courtyard building. Her work is further nuanced by traveling and studying throughout the world. Marrying new architectural elements with an educated respect of tradition has become a signature - woven throughout everything she does.
Though 3D software is now a crucial part of the design process, Amanda believes it all begins on a blank piece of paper, and relies on the right artist's ability to wield a pencil.
